The great inconsistencies surrounding the modern-day (read: regressive) left are to the point where I honestly have to ask: do they just like paying taxes in spite of those who don’t? It’s no secret the #regressiveleft has no true values of their own, despite always siding with whoever they arbitrarily deem the most oppressed group. For example, when Black Lives Matter disrupted a Gay Pride March; when pro-life woman were banned from the Women’s March; and when a man punched a (conservative) woman at that march.
Other than that, they just use your own individual values against you. For example, the hatred of Christianity and even religion, yet the love for Islam; the liberty of the individual to the whims of the arbitrarily defined collective (which, usually is only interested in diversity at skin deep levels, once a different opinion is mentioned they are outcasted); or even the dismissal of state’s rights in favor for federal power. It’s not as if these people actually believe in Islam, their arbitrarily defined and clouded collective, or more federal power, per se, (just look at their reaction to Donald Trump) rather they just use one’s values of Christianity, individualism, or state’s sovereignty against you.
From an article on Slate,
Today, we learned the president of the United States is preparing to reduce its investment in and influence on the world and is preparing a draft order titled “Auditing and Reducing U.S. Funding of International Organizations,” which calls for “at least a 40 percent overall decrease” in U.S. funding of international organizations. If President Trump signs the order and its provisions are carried out, the cuts could severely curtail the work of United Nations agencies, which rely on billions of dollars in annual United States contributions for missions that include caring for refugees (emphases are my own).
Now, how exactly is this a bad thing? Do they just like paying taxes, or rather, forcing others to pay more taxes? The left claims to care about the “middle class”, yet time and time again they are directly responsible for siphoning off the middle class’s money to go fund rich bureaucrats who work for the U.N. and waste “billions of dollars” in annual U.S. contributions. Where do they think all this money comes from?
Politicians don’t pay taxes. They might make it seem like they do, but only a little critical thought reveals this is faulty. Politicians are paid by taxes, so claims that they “pay their taxes” really just mean they pay themselves. Wouldn’t that be nice?
If it isn’t through taxation, it’s taxation’s evil step-brother, inflation. And it goes towards “caring” for refugees. Well, maybe there wouldn’t be any refugees if their hero, Obama, stuck to his campaign promises and ended the wars. You don’t help refugees while pretending to care about them, while simultaneously ignoring the destruction Obama has caused to the area. Yes, 26,000+ bombs do tend to destroy areas.
They are so engulfed in their feelings that reality no longer matters. It doesn’t matter if we create refugees as long as we pretend to care about them, and fund that with taxpayer’s money while pretending to care about the middle class.
And words are so much worse than actions!
That’s not a joke, from the same Slate article, the one claiming it was the “worst day ever”, goes on to say that, “Today, the president of the United States began referring to humans as ‘removable aliens.'” Of course, Trump isn’t referring to all humans as aliens, as that would be rather bizarre, but he’s defining immigrants who are here illegally. I don’t know if they are unaware of how many illegal immigrants Obama deported, or if they simply don’t care because he used nicer words or discretely carried out his actions.
Truth be told, I don’t think they know either. All they know and value are as follows: conservatives are bad and need to be opposed; libertarians are bad and need to be opposed; identitarians are Nazis and need to be severely hurt or killed; basically, anyone who disagrees with me is wrong; the most oppressed groups are the most virtuous; the collective right (which is composed of by individuals) always trumps the individual. If they ever were progressive, it should be clear that this is no longer the case. From the words of a former liberal, Dave Rubin, “I believe this regressive ideology is the biggest threat to freedom and western civilization that exists today”.
